To the Registrants of the 2020 ABC Fun Run 5K, 2K Run/Walk Event:
The ABC Education Foundation, and ABC Fun Run team is so thankful and humbled by all the support we have received from our runners, walkers, community supporters, and business partners these past few days. With the current COVID-19 pandemic that is limiting the gathering of people, an evolving situation that is impacting all of us, our board of directors has decided to defer the 2020 ABC Fun Run that was scheduled for May 2, 2020 and bring it back next year in 2021.
The decision to defer this year’s race was a difficult one. Unfortunately, there are so many unknowns at this time that impact all of us that our decision to defer the Fun Run was the best decision for the safety of our students, families, and communities.
In saying this we want to provide you with a few options that work best for you:
Option 1- Donate: If you would like to donate a portion, or all of your registration fee to ABC Education Foundation, send an email to tom.tracy@abcusd.us requesting to cancel your registration and donate your registration fee no later than May 3rd, 2020. In the email please indicate the exact name used on the registration application, and the portion of your registration fee you would like to donate.
Option 2- Refund: If you would like a refund for your race registration send an email to tom.tracy@abcusd.us requesting to cancel your registration and receive a refund no later than May 3rd, 2020. In the email please indicate the exact name used on the registration application.
Option 3- Defer to 2021: If you would like to defer your registration to next year, you must defer online for the 2021 ABC Fun Run before May 1st, 2020. Here's how:

What: The ABC Fun Run will provide 2K and 5K Run/Walks so that small children, walkers or parents with strollers as well as serious runners can have a series of fun runs! The ABC Fun Run will also include a Community Wellness Fair with a healthy food area, a Kid’s Fun Zone and other community-sponsored events to raise awareness of the importance of health and exercise.

Why: This fundraising event is coordinated by the ABC Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose vision is to ensure that every ABC student and school succeeds by providing funds, resources and expertise to ABC schools. Examples of how past Fun Run monies were allocated:
*Backpacks for low-income students *Holiday support for homeless ABC families
*Grant Awards for ABC teachers, schools, and special programs
Where: The ABC Fun Run and Community Wellness Fair will start at Los Cerritos Center Mall. 239 Los Cerritos Center, Cerritos, CA 90703 The Kids Run, 2K and 5K walk/run will be held within the Los Cerritos property. The start and finish line will be near the food court entrance.
